What we believe
We believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and that we are called to serve him in the world.
Serving Jesus Christ in the world means serving other. The scriptures teach us that loving God is inextricably tied to loving our neighbor.
We believe that the life of faith is about falling down three times and standing up four, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
God created you and me and loves us both.
The witness of those who came before us
We all have come to faith because someone else shared their experience of the faith with us. Our church is made up of people who have received a living word about God's love for the world through Jesus Christ. Believing in him we are changed, and through the power of the Holy Spirit led in living his way.
The scriptures contained in the Bible
Much of the anicent witness to the encounter with the Holy One by the people of God is contained in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. We believe in the testimony of the holy scriptures, and thank God that this living word guides us and teaches us about the life of faith today.
Ancient creeds
As Presbyterians we affirm our faith through creeds that encapsulate what we have learned in the scriptures by living lives of faith. Statements of faith are so important to us that the PC(USA) instruction manual, the Book of Order, comes in two parts: Rules and Creeds. We affirm the words of the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed regularly in worship.
Modern affirmations of faith and calling
If you are interested in creedal statements written to address faith in the modern day, you might want to read the Social Creed for the 21st Century or the Barmen Confession.
